Membership

Membership is open to all individuals that meet ALL of the following criteria

1. Is a current resident of the state of Minnesota. (Residency refers to domicile, not immigration status.)

2. Believes and supports the organizations purpose:

   • ...to bring together the diverse and growing Guinean community in Minnesota to realize our common interest, and work together to strengthen our [Guinean] community in Minnesota and beyond. 

3. Pays annual membership dues, and

   • Current membership due is $50 per year.

4. Attends at least two (2) organization sponsored events a year, not counting meetings.

Officers and Elections

GUIAMN officers are grouped in two main bodies

1. Executive Board consist of the following roles and responsibility

   • President

   • Vice President

   • Secretary of Administration

   • Secretary of Finance

   • Secretary of Organization

   • Plus any others the President deems necessary to help carry on the responsibilities of his/her mandate

2. Advisory Board consisting of selected leaders in the community, whose main purpose is to support and advice the Executive Board, and serve as backup in the event that the Executive group is not able or willing to perform its duties.

Elections

• Elections are managed by the Advisory Board

• Elections are conducted every 3 years

• The following roles shall be independently elected:

  • President

  • Vice President

  • Financial Secretary

  • Secretary General

  • Secretary of the Organization
